Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
New American Tradesman (newamericantradesman.com) is operated by Orange Dog Properties LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors and readers, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Information We Collect
We collect information in a few limited ways:
- Analytics data.We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how people find and use the site — pages viewed, referring source, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and similar standard metrics. GA4 sets cookies and browser identifiers to do this. We do not layer any custom event tracking on top of GA4’s defaults.
- Newsletter and account signups. If you sign up for our newsletter or (once account features launch) create an account, we store your email address in our users database. Once our account system (built on Better Auth) is live, this may also include your name and authentication credentials needed to sign you in.
- Payment information.Once paid subscriptions launch, payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your actual card details — we never see or store your full card number. We retain only a Stripe customer reference so we can associate your subscription with your account.
- Affiliate link clicks. Some articles link to third-party software (Jobber, Housecall Pro, QuickBooks, Aspire, and similar) through our affiliate partnerships, managed via PartnerStack. Clicking one of these links does not set a tracking cookie on newamericantradesman.com itself. The destination company may set its own cookie or tracking parameter on its own site to attribute the referral to us. See our affiliate disclosure for more detail.
How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the site and understand which content is useful to readers
- Send newsletter emails to readers who’ve opted in
- Authenticate account holders and maintain their sessions, once account features launch
- Process and manage subscription payments, once paid subscriptions launch
- Attribute qualifying referrals to the affiliate programs we participate in
Cookies & Analytics
Our primary use of cookies is Google Analytics 4’s standard cookies and identifiers, which let GA4 distinguish repeat visits and build aggregate traffic reports. We don’t currently use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any tracking beyond GA4’s defaults. You can control or block these cookies through your browser settings or a browser extension like Google’s own Analytics opt-out add-on; the site will continue to function normally either way.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third parties to run the site:
- Google Analytics 4— traffic and usage analytics
- Stripe— subscription payment processing (once paid subscriptions launch); Stripe holds and secures your payment card data under its own privacy policy
- PartnerStack— affiliate program management for the software companies we link to and earn referral commissions from
- Better Auth— authentication for subscriber accounts (once launched); sessions are stored in our own database, not with a third-party identity provider
Each of these services processes data under its own privacy policy in addition to this one.
Data Retention
We keep account and newsletter data for as long as your account or subscription is active, or as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so except where we need to retain limited records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes. GA4 analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard GA4 retention settings.
We Don’t Sell Your Data
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, ever. We share data only with the service providers listed above, to the extent needed for them to perform their function, or where required by law.
Children’s Privacy
This site is intended for trade business owners and operators, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Regardless of where you’re located, we honor applicable data protection rights — including rights available to California residents under the CCPA and to individuals in the EU/UK under the GDPR — for visitors those laws apply to. Depending on your location, this can include the right to know what information we hold about you, request a copy of it, request correction or deletion, and opt out of certain uses. To make a request, email hello@newamericantradesman.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site and its features change. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page whenever we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
